Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue have transformed the way they visualize and manage risk

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue is the largest non-metropolitan fire and rescue service in England, covering almost 4,000 square miles, protecting 820,000 households, 74,000 businesses and a further 1.1 million visitors a year.

Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue

Sue Nugent, Risk, BCM & Insurance Manager, explains they had a lack of visibility of risks and needed to visualize multiple layers of risk registers; in excess of 30 separate workbooks and worksheets that didn't talk to each other.

"Our template dashboard is designed to ease navigation and check our risk registers against the UK national risk register. We have a bow-tie view that displays 337 items of data in a single view compared to less than 17 items in an Excel sheet. The same amount of information in Excel would span more than 15 A3 pages."
