Frequently asked questions
When you buy SharpCloud we don't just provide you with licenses, we are dedicated to giving you the help and support you need to make the most of our products. Here is a list of questions we are frequently asked and some helpful answers. If you have further queries, please get in touch.
- A story in refers to your general workspace. Each story is made up of a set of views and items. If you think of a presentation, the story is your whole presentation and views are slides that incorporate dynamic and interactive data.
- An item is simply a data point. Every story in SharpCloud is comprised of data points. If you think of a spreadsheet, items are the rows.
- Creators have the ability to build and edit stories in SharpCloud.
- Collaborators have the ability to play with and collaborate on existing stories by filtering and commenting.
These are the three different permission levels in SharpCloud:
- Create: full control to build, modify and share stories. Requires a Creator subscription.
- Collaborate: ability to interact with stories, and make updates via forms. Requires a Collaborator or a Creator subscription.
- Read-Only: ability to view stories only and cannot make changes. Requires a Collaborator or a Creator subscription.
You can always upgrade your plan from Free to Team Pack or Enterprise. If you are interested in changing your plan, please reach out to sales@sharpcloud.com for assistance.
Our primary data center regions are in the UK, US or EU (Netherlands). We can also provide hosting in AWS and any other Microsoft Azure Commercial Data Center for an additional fee. If you wish to host SharpCloud yourself then this option is also available.
- If you have a desire to scale SharpCloud across business units, groups or divisions.
- If you want to build a SharpCloud Center of Excellence community to realize best practices at scale.
- If you desire economies of scale and fixed pricing in the form of a longer-term agreement.
