Who is the solution for and why?
This solution is for senior strategy, innovation, technology and business leaders with responsibility for managing innovation, R&D and/or process/product development, in small, medium and large organizations.
A strategic vision is essential for the future of a business because it reflects its values, purposes, and goals. A strategic vision should be aspirational, ambitious, and achievable.
A strategic vision combines the best practices of strategic planning, visioning tools, and change management strategies. It brings together key stakeholders to develop a future vision for an organization over a defined period, and enables organizations and groups to agree on drivers for change, compelling goals, and aligned actions.
An organization accomplishes its mission in order to achieve its vision. A mission statement defines what an organization does and how the organization conducts business. A vision statement is basically the ultimate goal of what the organization would like to accomplish and is more aspirational and forward-facing.
What makes an effective vision statement?
- Future Focused: Provides the “big picture” and clearly describes what your organization will be like in several years.
- Directional: Serves as guide to organizational plans and strategies.
- Specific: Clear to guide decision-making.
- Relevant and Purpose-Driven: Reflects the company’s response to external factors.
- Values-Based: Alignment of values inherent within the organization.
- Challenging: Inspires members of the organization to do great things and strive for higher level results.
- Unique and Memorable: Highlights what makes the organization different and why it matters.
- Inspiring: Appealing and engages people to commit to a cause.
Your organization's Strategic Priorities should be already known and relayed to be entered into SharpCloud pre-workshop.
Write at least one Driver Statement per Driver Category. A well-structured and precise Driver Statement should be written in two parts: 1) Observation 2) Consequence.
Systematically categorize and arrange driver statements based on their alignment with strategic priorities.
Use the voting Form to vote on the most important Driver Statements for your strategic vision.
From the weighted Driver Statements connected to each Strategic Priority, write a Vision Statement that accounts for the relative importance of each Driver Statement.
Use the voting widget within the panels of each Vision Statement to vote on how important they are to your strategic vision.
From the weighted Vision Statements, write one Strategic Vision that accounts for the relative importance of each Vision Statement.
