The role:

This is a hybrid role requiring a range of skills. Working with our existing team you will provide additional support and knowledge in 3 key areas of our software business.

1. DevOps

2. Infrastructure

3. Product Support

We welcome applications from experienced Cloud and DevOps Engineers to this role, but please don’t be put off applying if you are at the beginning of your Devops Engineer journey. The right attitude to learning and support is important. 

The DevOps process involves supporting both the development team with product design and continuous delivery, as well as more controlled rollout of live updates to both cloud and on-prem customers. We deploy our cloud apps to MS Azure via DevOps and provide on-prem build for secure environments in both Windows and Linux.

The infrastructure role requires managing all of the company physical, virtual and BYOD devices and software (E.g. MSOffice, Jira, HubSpot) to CyberEssentials standards. With users in remote locations, an extensive array of VMs and firewalls must also be managed and maintained.

The Cloud DevOps Engineer must have a strong background in complex troubleshooting across a range of technologies. You will be involved in supporting and deploying software in both cloud and highly secured on-prem environments. Some of the troubleshooting and support will require detailed product knowledge and the ability to write and execute custom SQL.

 

Your Technical Knowledge:

The successful candidates will ideally have a sound understanding of as many of the below as possible:

· Cloud technologies (Azure) (PaaS and IaaS)

· DevOps Technologies e.g. MS DevOps

· Infrastructure and virtualisation (Office365 ,Windows and/or Mac OS, Windows Servers, Linux)

· RDBMS with experience / knowledge of Azure SQL / SQL server

· Programming / scripting with PowerShell (or any similar language)

· Infosec / Security Compliance (e.g. InTune)

· Any interest or experience in Data Analytics / Big Data would be beneficial.

Above all, the cloud engineer will be a keen technologist with a hunger to learn new skills and develop their career.

Please note Security Clearance will be required and so candidates must meet the criteria to obtain Clearance (ideally having a UK passport / Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK and no criminal record).
